Medical Association Worries Over Medicine Shortage

Kathmandu, Nov 7: Nepal Medical Association (NMA) on Saturday expressed concern towards the difficulties emerging in extremely sensitive areas including the medical sector in the backdrop of severe shortage of fuel products due to the agitation and Indian government’s undeclared blockade.

“The treatment of common Nepali people has been difficult due to the shortage of essential medicines in medical institutions across the country,” NMA General Secretary Mukti Ram Shrestha said in a statement adding, “NMA expresses deep concern over the failure to provide essential medicines to patients due to the limited amount of medicines in health institutes.”

The Association has appealed to the government and the agitating side to resolve the standoff through mutual agreement and result-oriented negotiations citing that a sensitive sector as the health service has been badly affected. RSS
