All political parties come together to curb forest encroachment: Forest Minister Bhandari

Pathari (Morang), Oct 29: Minister for Forest and Soil Conservation Shankar Bhandari today said all political parties should unite to curb forest encroachment. Speaking at a press conference organised by the Morang chapter of Press Union in Biratnagar, Minister Bhandari said he would play his part to take initiation to stop forest encroachment in the Chure region.
“It is not enough for political parties only to deliver speeches in the name of development. Rather, they should also engage and help to curb forest encroachment and smuggling of forest products and wildlife,” he said.
On the impeachment motion filed in Parliament against Chief of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority Lokman Singh Karki, he said the Nepali Congress should not speak about the issue. “The motion that was brought without informing the government coalition partner will not be acceptable to NC,” he said.
